The proposed research examines whether personal injury processes restore trust/relationships. It it attempts to answer the question to what extent personal injury victims experience financial and relational needs in cases varying in the degree to which there is a breach of trust between the victim and the perpetrator. Next, it focuses on the question what needs are attributed to the victim by the other parties involved, how they respond to these perceived needs and whether they recognize the needs the victim actually experiences. Furthermore, it examines how this specific interaction evolves during the course of the personal injury process.
