Abstract:
The principle of numerus clausus denotes a doctrine prescribing a closed list of property rights in order to protect third parties against the effects of these property rights. This project examines the existence of such a principle in the major European legal systems. Furthermore, some mixed legal systems will be considered to see how these systems deal with divergences between common law and civil law property systems
