Abstract:
The project aims at analyzing the financial compensation after catastrophes from various perspectives. First, a comparative legal perspective will be used by analyzing what compensation instruments exist in various countries; second a law and economics perspective will be used to indicate what the optimal compensation mechanism may be or at least what benefits and disadvantages may be of various solutions and third, the issue will be addressed from a competition angle to analyze whether solutions in various countries are compatible with requirements of efficient competition law.
