Abstract:
In this study, I will analyze the internal and external structure of commercial audiovisual media copyright piracy in China. In a second phase, I will look at the specific issues of the audiovisual media landscape in China, and try to provide a framework on how the government wishes to control the media and the effect it has on the distribution of audiovisual media. This also has consequences to China\'s presence in the international trade arena. In a third part, I will look at the role of national and international standardization in terms of media control.
