Abstract:
The research project offers the comprehensive analysis of the private-sector standards regulation under WTO law in order to identify how to strike a proper balance between the legitimate objectives pursued by the private-sector standards and the market access for developing countries in the framework of the WTO law. Due to proliferation of the private-sector standards and increase of their influence on international trade the project examines the applicability of the existing WTO legal norms to the private-sector standards with the attempt to identify what other WTO rules, if any, need to be developed.
