Abstract:
The research aims to investigate the relation between resistance against the Europeanisation of private law and nationalist ideology. Once examined the various conceptions and forms of nationalism and considered their implications for different European legal systems and for the European legal system itself, the research will focus on the resistance offered by EU member states (distinguishing various actors within them) in order to verify whether the technical arguments upon which the oppositions are based are structurally or functionally similar to typical nationalist arguments.
