Abstract:
The increasing internationalisation of family law in Europe coupled with the trend towards recognition of non-marital family forms creates numerous problems for private international law. This research examines the possibilities for the harmonisation or unification of private international law rules with respect to non-marital registered relationships in seven jurisdictions (Belgium, England, France, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Switzerland).
