Abstract:
This research proposal will analyze a number of maritime disputes between China and its neighboring countries. Geographically the disputes could not be more far ranging, covering the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea and the South China Sea and involving a number of neighboring countries such as North Korea, South Korea, Japan and other Southeast Asian Nations. Meanwhile, as the complicated situation in the South China Sea, this paper will also study the potential disputes on underwater cultural heritage related to water disputes and the governance of Chinese underwater cultural heritage.
