Abstract:
The PhD Research will look at forms of quasi-citizenship schemes employed by migrant-sending countries (in particular China, India, Suriname, and Turkey) and the relationship between these forms of quasi-citizenship and return migration of former nationals. The PhD research will further examine whether these forms of quasi-citizenship are viable alternatives to allowing dual nationality in the migrant-sending countries.
