Abstract:
The changing nature of the international community influences the functioning of the rule of law in European states. I will first research if the development of international law puts pressure on the national rule of law and in what way. Then I will look at the existence or possible development of international rule of law standards. These two questions will come together in the main question that guides this research. Can international rule of law standards complement the functioning of a national rule of law?
