Abstract:
Despite the rapid spread of assisted reproduction technologies (ART), there is yet no adequate regulation of such practices in Europe. This project explores ways in which European legal approaches and instruments can help to tackle ART problems, particularly with regard to equal treatment in access to ART. It will analyse ART issues using European perspectives of family law, human rights law, health law and social security law. The study will develop an in-depth comparative analysis of national and European regulations on ART, as well as of the relevant case-law by the ECtHR and the CJEU.
