Abstract:
This project aims to contribute to the understanding of the influence of political stakes in legislative processes of sales law. In particular it concerns the drafting of a European Instrument, which will be compared to the UCC, the American instrument of inter-state sales law. It focuses on establishing the political character of the European and American process and investigates the relation between the political character of a legislative instrument and the course of its underlying drafting process. It aims to demonstrate in a very specific way that even the most technical issues of private law have political issues.
