Abstract:

The research project focuses on the EU external relations in the field of migration and, more specifically, on the EU return policy. It aims at analysing the web of formal and informal tools composing the EU return policy, in order to examine its constitutionality from both an external relations and a fundamental rights perspective. To do so, it examines the constitutional framework governing the EU external action in the field of return/readmission of migrants and maps out the diversified instruments of cooperation on return concluded between the EU and third countries.
