Abstract:
The aim of this dissertation is to conceptualise the validity review of legislative acts with regard to fundamental rights by taking into account the specific nature of the EU legal order. In particular, I will examine the transformations that the function of fundamental rights review has undergone in the light of recent legislative and case-law developments in the field of human rights. I will argue that these transformations can be interpreted as a change of vision of fundamental rights in the European Union, from a sole limit to the exercise of the Union\'s competences towards a political conception of rights.
