Abstract:
The International Maritime Organization has jurisdiction to regulate atmospheric pollution from international shipping pursuant to several treaties, and it is currently enacting a series of policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from shipping. Using the framework of the law of international organizations, this project will identify the IMOs legal duties to mitigate climate change caused by international shipping.
