Abstract:
Under the Hague (Visby) Rules the duties of the carrier are to exercise due diligence to make the ship seaworthy and the duty to load, stow, handle, carry, keep, care for and discharge the goods carried. On the othe hand the carrier can rely on 17 exceptions to escape liability to escape responsibility.
My research is a comparitive law study of the relationship between the duties of the carrier and the exceptions and the division of the burden of proof
